The cost of that is upkeep: it rusts if you put it away wet and needs re-seasoning periodically. The handle is riveted rather than bolted, so a bent handle means retiring the pan rather than replacing a part.

The detachable handle is the whole point: you buy one handle and reuse it across every Casteline body you own, which genuinely cuts material and cupboard space. Read the listing carefully though — this price buys a pot with no handle at all, and once you add one the total lands above a comparable fixed-handle saucepan.

It carries no ethical certification, only a safety one, so it scores low here despite being the better object.

The figure worth having is the thirty-year spare-parts guarantee on the motor — the part that actually fails on a food processor, kept available for three decades. Note what it doesn't cover: bowls and blades are wear parts on a three-year guarantee. And the LONGTIME® durability label Magimix advertises is awarded to its Juice Expert 2, not to this machine; the certifier's own directory does not list it.

Handmade stoneware means real piece-to-piece variation in glaze and colour — that is the process rather than a fault, but if you want a matched set of eight, order them together, because colour shifts between kiln batches. It also isn't thermal-shock resistant above 100°C, so it won't go freezer to hot oven the way industrial ceramic will.
Caractère dinner plate, set of four
Porcelain fired this hard is genuinely durable and non-porous, so it won't take on odours or stain the way earthenware does, and it is rated from −20°C to +180°C for freezer-to-table use. It remains ceramic though: a hard knock breaks it, and there is no stated repair or take-back scheme, so end of life is landfill or general ceramic waste rather than anything the maker runs.
