Icon Evasion 500ml
Double-walled vacuum flask in 90% recycled stainless steel, with a replaceable silicone seal.
Our take
The recycled steel body is the real environmental story here, and the silicone seal is sold as a spare, so a perished joint doesn't end the bottle. But read the origin claim closely: the bottle is manufactured in China and only the decoration is done at the brand's Alsace workshop. If you are buying this as French-made, that applies to the finish, not the object.

Certified means a third-party label backs it, with a source you can check. Stated means someone says so without one. Not found means we found nothing — not that the product fails.

Broken down per part, because a claim that holds for the body of a product often doesn't hold for its lid or seal. Flags cite EU law, not our opinion.
Body
STAINLESS STEEL 30490% recycled content, double-wall vacuum insulationStructural material, food contact
Also written 18/8 — the same chromium-nickel family as 18/10 with marginally less nickel, and equally inert in food contact. Steel is one of the few materials recycled indefinitely without losing quality, so recycled content here is a real saving rather than a token one.

Cap structure
POLYPROPYLENEPP5Structural plastic
A BPA-free food-contact plastic authorised under Regulation (EU) 10/2011. Not a bisphenol, but still a plastic meeting hot liquid, and it degrades with age and heat.

Seal
SILICONEsold separately as a spare partSeal and grip material
Flexible polymer used for seals, lids and grips. Stable across a wide temperature range and not a bisphenol, but it is not accepted in household recycling streams — so whether a perished seal can be replaced depends entirely on the maker selling it as a spare part.
